Certifications and labels are ubiquitous in the world of sleep products. They often serve as handy marks of approval and are an easy solution for those who want to convey sustainability and quality. However, it is essential to recognize that certificates are just the beginning of a truly sustainable approach. At Greensleep, we believe that much more is needed than a stamp or a label to make a real difference for people and the planet.

Sustainability Means Taking Responsibility

Certifications can help ensure a standard, but they don't always tell the whole story. A label indicates that certain standards have been met, but at Greensleep, we look beyond that. We find it essential to understand and oversee our entire value chain—from the sourcing of our raw materials to production, usage, and disposal after the life cycle of our products. We work closely with our partners and suppliers to ensure that every material used in our mattresses and beds is produced in a fair and environmentally responsible manner.

Labels have become commodities

Labels and certifications are often tied to commercial organizations. We notice that their requirement packages have become less stringent in recent years to be more accessible to more companies. This does not align with our vision. We do not want to compromise on health, sustainability, and quality. That is why we have decided to chart our entire value chain ourselves, rather than solely focus on the commercial standards of labels.

Thinking from our own strengths

At Greensleep, we start from our own strengths. We know our materials, our processes, and our suppliers inside out. Every day, we work on continuously improving everything we do. It is not always the easiest path, but we believe it is the only right one.
